Dr. Uday G. Kelkar (Managing Director)


Dr. Kelkar has more than 23 years of experience in the process design of Water and Wastewater treatment Projects including 9 years in India on various World Bank/ JBIC/ USAID/USTDA projects. During these years, Dr. Kelkar has served in various capacities, as Managing Director/ Business Director, Business Development Manager, Program Manager, Project Manager, Process engineer, and Team leader on a number of design/engineering projects and/or studies in water and sanitation sector in USA, Middle East and India.

 

His expertise includes study, evaluation and design of water and wastewater treatment processes; process chemistry; oxidation (conventional and advanced), disinfection-physical/chemical; advance nutrient removal process (BNR), application of membranes in wastewater (MBR and Tertiary filtration) processes, energy management, Recycle and Reuse of domestic wastewater for non-potable application; Landfill leachate treatment; Master planning; treatment techniques for the minimization, handling, and disposal of water and wastewater treatment plant residuals.

 

He has authored and presented more than 100 papers ranging from managing water quality in lakes to water/wastewater treatment process & design, optimization of unit processes to application of low pressure membranes for water/wastewater treatment, recycle & reuse, treatment of water and wastewater residuals.

 

Mr. MASAAKI MURAKAMI


Mr. Masaaki Murakami is the President and Representative Director in NJS Co. Ltd. (formerly known as Nippon Jogesuido Sekkei Co., Ltd.) from March 2014. He joined the Company in 1975 and over the years in the company he has worked as the Regional Director of Eastern Japan, Chief Director of River Business and as the Director of the Company.

Mr. Murakami has added his vision and extensive experience and knowledge to bring in a new life force to NJS. His profound understanding of the business has directed the energies to development of largest asset for any consulting company along with scaling new heights in Business.

In his leadership Mr. Murakami is primarily focusing on employee’s training and giving a work-life balance. In the near future, he wishes to strengthen NJS’s global expansion and become a company which contributes to the world’s water and environment. He has a vision in expanding NJS’s growth in Asia, the Middle East, South and Central America and Africa, where he believes the achievements of NJS in these markets will be useful. For these reasons, he has described it’s vision as. “A global company offering wide range of water and environmental technologies and services comprehensively, from planning and designing to business management”



Dr. Yogeshwar Gokhale


Dr. Gokhale holds a B. Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado, USA. With almost 20 years of experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater recycling and sludge treatment, Dr. Gokhale worked with numerous industrial and municipal clients in India, Australia and Oman across all project phases. A recognized expert in process design, commissioning and troubleshooting, he has led the process design of many municipal wastewater treatment plants. He also has expertise in Plant Operations & Maintenance and has served various clients as Operations Specialist.

Some of his notable projects are: Oxygenation Process for Manikchand’s Oxyrich Packaged Drinking Water Project in India; Lime Softening Process of Raw Water from River Ganga for ITC Triveni Tissues near Kolkata; Brackish Water Desalination Plant for Gulfar in Oman; Several wastewater treatment plants for Hunter Water in Australia including Membrane Bioreactor Plants for unrestricted urban reuse; Technologist on Sydney Water’s Biosolids Reduction Study and; Water Recycling Masterplan for the City of Hyderabad, India; Yamuna Action Plan III; Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Project; and Survey for Ganga Rejuvenation.

At NJS and NJSEI he is the Lead Process Expert on various water and wastewater treatment projects across India with a combined capacity of more than 2000 MLD.





Mr. Yasuhira (Director)


After graduating from Keio University in Tokyo, Mr. Yasuhira gained his experience in taxation and accounting works for almost 17 years through the Japanese Trading House and Plastic Molding Industries in Japan, Indonesia together with some industries in European countries.

 

Mr. Yasuhira started working with NJS consultants in May 2009, where presently he looks after the closing account of Tokyo head office, besides, supports assorted tax issues for projects in Middle East and Asia. He feels immense pleasure in sharing his relationship with NJSEI, which is considered as one of the vital subsidiaries in NJS group.



Mr Sontakke (Director)


Mr. Sontakke has a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering with over 22 years of experience in wastewater conveyance, treatment, recycle, reuse and its safe disposal. He has experience in every stage of the project from conceptualization to commissioning including design, detailed engineering, construction supervision, commissioning and Project Management of medium to large size projects. He has worked over projects in private sector and public sector projects. He has worked on approximately 50 projects which are funded by urban local bodies, state governments, Government of India and bilateral as well as multilateral international funding agencies. He has recently acquired experience on development and execution of projects on Public Private Partnership Programs (PPP mode). Before joining NJSEI-Team, he worked with International Consultancy firms like MWH and Royal Haskoning. He was the recipient of the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India Fellowship for the Masters Program of study in Environmental Engineering.
