Dr. Uday Kelkar
Dr. Kelkar has more than 35 years of experience in the process design of Water and Wastewater treatment Projects including 22 years in India on various World Bank/ JBIC-JICA/ USAID/USTDA/ADB projects. During these years, Dr. Kelkar has served in various capacities, as Managing Director/ Business Director, Business Development Manager, Program Manager, Project Manager, Process Engineer, and Team Leader on a number of design/engineering projects and/or studies in water and sanitation sector in USA, Middle East, Sri Lanka, South East Asia and India.

His expertise includes study, evaluation and design of water and wastewater treatment processes; process chemistry; oxidation (conventional and advanced), disinfection-physical/chemical; advance nutrient removal process (BNR), application of membranes in wastewater (MBR and Tertiary filtration) processes, energy management, Recycle and Reuse of domestic wastewater for non-potable application; Landfill leachate treatment; Master planning; treatment techniques for the minimization, handling, and disposal of water and wastewater treatment plant residuals.
He currently leads Business/Project Development in India and simultaneously serves as senior technical expert on various water and wastewater projects for NJS Consultants. He has worked as Team Leader and Sr. Technical Expert in various projects and studies in India like – Yamuna Action Plan Phase III – New Delhi, Hussain Sagar Lake Improvement and reuse Project – Hyderabad, Cauvery Stage IV Phase II Project- Bangalore, Agra Water Supply Project, Nagpur/MSPGCL wastewater reuse project, V-valley recycle and reuse project for BWSSB, and various SAPROF studies and studies on recycle and reuse technologies of waste water and waste to energy conversion.
Honors and Awards:
Received “Hall of Fame Award 2016” as one of the “50 Most Influential People in the Indian Water & Wastewater Industry 2016” at the EverythingAboutWater, Annual Conference held in Delhi, August 2016.
Received “Environmental Leadership Award” presented by the United States Asia Environmental Partnership Program as part of the USAID-Asia initiative, May 2010. The award recognizes outstanding contribution made by an individual through working in partnership to improve the environment and quality of life for the people of Asia.
Has authored more than 150 papers/publication/presentations combined on various subjects dealing with Advanced Water and Wastewater treatment processes, distribution system water quality, disinfection, sludge management, and recycle and reuse of Wastewater for indirect potable and non-potable applications.
Dr. Yogeshwar Gokhale
Dr. Gokhale holds a B. Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado, USA. With almost 20 years of experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater recycling and sludge treatment, Dr. Gokhale worked with numerous industrial and municipal clients in India, Australia and Oman across all project phases. A recognized expert in process design, commissioning and troubleshooting, he has led the process design of many municipal wastewater treatment plants.

A recognized expert in process design, commissioning and troubleshooting, he has led the process design of many municipal wastewater treatment plants.
He also has expertise in Plant Operations & Maintenance and has served various clients as Operations Specialist.
Some of his notable projects are: Oxygenation Process for Manikchand’sOxyrich Packaged Drinking Water Project in India; Lime Softening Process of Raw Water from River Ganga for ITC Triveni Tissues near Kolkata; Brackish Water Desalination Plant for Gulfar in Oman; Several wastewater treatment plants for Hunter Water in Australia including Membrane Bioreactor Plants for unrestricted urban reuse; Technologist on Sydney Water’s Biosolids Reduction Study and; Water Recycling Masterplan for the City of Hyderabad, India; Yamuna Action Plan III; Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Project; and Survey for Ganga Rejuvenation.
At NJS and NJSEI he is the Lead Process Expert on various water and wastewater treatment projects across India with a combined capacity of more than 2000 MLD.
Vidyadhar Sontakke
Mr. Sontakke has a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering with over 22 years of experience in wastewater conveyance, treatment, recycle, reuse and its safe disposal. He has experience in every stage of the project from conceptualization to commissioning including design, detailed engineering, construction supervision, commissioning and Project Management of medium to large size projects. He has worked over projects in private sector and public sector projects. He has worked on approximately 50 projects which are funded by urban local bodies, state governments, Government of India and bilateral as well as multilateral international funding agencies.
Vidyadhar Sontakke
Director
Mr. Sontakke has a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering with over 22 years of experience in wastewater conveyance, treatment, recycle, reuse and its safe disposal. He has experience in every stage of the project from conceptualization to commissioning including design, detailed engineering, construction supervision, commissioning and Project Management of medium to large size projects. He has worked over projects in private sector and public sector projects. He has worked on approximately 50 projects which are funded by urban local bodies, state governments, Government of India and bilateral as well as multilateral international funding agencies.
He has recently acquired experience on development and execution of projects on Public Private Partnership Programs (PPP mode). Before joining NJSEI-Team, he worked with International Consultancy firms like MWH and Royal Haskoning. He was the recipient of the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India Fellowship for the Master’s Program of study in Environmental Engineering.
Sanjay Kumar Guleria
Mr. Guleria is an Engineering & Management Executive with 25 years of progressively responsible experience including accomplishments in areas of the infrastructure projects related to environment improvement such as Sewage Treatment Plant, Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant, Recycle and Reuse of Waste Water, Water treatment Plant, Pumping Stations, Water Supply and Sewerage System etc. encompassing Techno-commercial Proposal preparation, Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Project Planning & Monitoring of turnkey project.
Sanjay Kumar Guleria

Mr. Guleria is an Engineering & Management Executive with 25 years of progressively responsible experience including accomplishments in areas of the infrastructure projects related to environment improvement such as Sewage Treatment Plant, Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant, Recycle and Reuse of Waste Water, Water treatment Plant, Pumping Stations, Water Supply and Sewerage System etc. encompassing Techno-commercial Proposal preparation, Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Project Planning & Monitoring of turnkey project.
He has track record of developing, designing & managing engineering projects based on various advance technologies with time and budget significantly under proposed limit. He has proven leadership ability by handling of several multifaceted engineering projects and thorough understanding of financial controls & strategic planning.
Pradipto Sarkar
A Mechanical Engineer with 22 years of total experience including 20 years in the water industry working on large internationally financed (JICA, ADB etc) water supply and waste water projects. His experience covers all the spectrum of a project starting from its Inception Phase, business development to marketing, preparation of proposals, Bid Management, contract formulation, Project Management, Contract Management and construction supervision, commissioning and finally its Operation and Maintenance (O&M).
Pradipto Sarkar
Director
A Mechanical Engineer with 22 years of total experience including 20 years in the water industry working on large internationally financed (JICA, ADB etc) water supply and waste water projects. He has worked in various corporates like L&T, JUSCO and has been associated with NJSEI for last 10 years. His experience covers all the spectrum of a project starting from its Inception Phase, business development to marketing, preparation of proposals, Bid Management, contract formulation, Project Management, Contract Management and construction supervision, commissioning and finally its Operation and Maintenance (O&M).
He also has extensive working experience in large scale water and waste water projects which are governed by FIDIC conditions of Contract. He also has specific experience on NRW reduction and distribution improvement projects.
Yasuhiko Kabaya
Mr. Kabaya joined NJS, the parent company of NJSEI, in 1990 and was appointed as Director and Division Director of the Administrative Division in 2020, then as Executive Director in 2022 In position as Executive Director, he currently plays the central role in the management of NJS and its subsidiaries. In addition, he concurrently served as the Division Director of the Global Environment Division from April 2024 for a period of one year and has experience in overseeing the overseas division.

Mr. Kabaya is a Professional Engineer with qualifications in the water supply and sewerage, construction, sanitary engineering, and general technical supervision. With over 35 years of experience in the water, environment and waste related sectors, Mr. Kabaya has demonstrated leadership in all aspects of business both in Japan and the global market.

Mr. Sato joined NJS, the parent company of NJSEI, in 1991. After joining the Company, he was mainly involved in surveys, planning, and design work for water supply projects. Mr. Sato is a Professional Engineer and has been engaged in the global business section for over 20 years. Since 2007, he has been mainly in charge of overseas business development engaged in overseas business development and management and is currently the Executive Officer and Deputy Division Director of the Global Environmental Division of NJS Co., Ltd.
